State-of-the-Art Broadcast Infrastructure Transforms Atlanta Falcons Stadium
Mercedes-Benz Stadium receives state-of-the-art upgrades, including 4K cameras and LED lighting, to enhance fan experience and media coverage.

The Atlanta Falcons announced today the completion of a groundbreaking $50 million broadcast infrastructure upgrade at their home stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The project, which was executed by leading technology firm, Broadcast Systems Solutions (BSS), aims to elevate the fan experience and revolutionize media coverage during live broadcasts.
Leveraging Cutting-Edge Technology
Central to the upgrade is the installation of a 4K ultra-high-definition camera system, including five Grass Valley LDX 6000 cameras, capable of capturing every play in stunning detail. According to John Doe, Chief Engineer at BSS, "The integration of these high-resolution cameras will ensure that broadcasters and viewers receive an unparalleled visual experience."
Enhancing Fan Engagement
To further enhance fan engagement, the stadium has implemented a sophisticated LED lighting system from Philips Sports Lighting, featuring over 1 million LEDs. This advanced setup allows for dynamic color changes and enhanced visibility during night games. "The new LED lighting not only improves the viewing experience but also adds an exciting visual element to each game," said Sarah Johnson, Director of Operations at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Boosting Media Coverage
The upgrade also includes a comprehensive audio system with 128 microphones from Sennheiser, ensuring crystal-clear sound quality. Additionally, the stadium has installed a new fiber-optic network, capable of handling up to 10 Gbps data transfer speeds, supporting high-resolution video feeds and real-time data analytics.
Future-Proofing the Stadium
With this extensive upgrade, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is well-equipped to meet the demands of modern sports broadcasting. The investments made in technology will not only benefit current fans and broadcasters but also position the stadium for future advancements in live production. As John Doe concludes, "By staying at the forefront of technological innovation, we are ensuring that every game broadcast from Mercedes-Benz Stadium sets a new standard in quality and engagement."
