State-of-the-Art Broadcast Infrastructure Installation at Levi's Stadium Transforms Live Production Capabilities
Learn how Levi's Stadium is transforming its broadcast infrastructure with advanced cameras, audio systems, and AI technology, enhancing live event experiences.

Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers and a hub for major sporting events, is undergoing a transformative broadcast infrastructure upgrade. The project, spearheaded by TechMedia Solutions in collaboration with AudioVisual Innovations (AVI), will significantly enhance live production capabilities, setting new benchmarks in stadium audio-visual technology. ## Advanced Audio-Visual Integration At the heart of this ambitious installation are several technologies designed to revolutionize how events at Levi's Stadium are broadcast. The stadium is installing 30 high-definition cameras from Sony, each capable of capturing stunning 4K video at a frame rate of up to 120 frames per second. Additionally, the system will feature Dolby Atmos audio technology for immersive sound experiences.
"This project represents a leap forward in how we deliver live events," stated John Doe, CEO of TechMedia Solutions. "With these advanced cameras and audio systems, every viewer will feel like they're right on the field." ## Enhanced Control Room and Network Infrastructure The control room is being redesigned to accommodate the latest in broadcast technology, featuring a new video switcher from Grass Valley, capable of handling up to 108 HD inputs simultaneously. This upgrade ensures switching between camera feeds during live events. Network infrastructure has also been bolstered with a fiber-optic backbone that supports ultra-high-speed data transfer rates of up to 40 Gbps. This will enable real-time transmission of high-definition video and audio content, crucial for live streaming services like ESPN+.
"The network upgrade is the unsung hero of this project," remarked Jane Smith, Chief Engineer at AudioVisual Innovations. "Without it, none of these advanced technologies could function as intended." ## Future-Proofing with AI and Machine Learning Levi's Stadium is also incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities into its broadcast infrastructure. These systems will automatically analyze camera feeds to suggest optimal angles during gameplay and manage video switching in real-time, reducing the need for manual intervention. By 2026, Levi's Stadium plans to host over 35 major events, benefiting from these technological advancements. The stadium expects a significant increase in viewer engagement metrics, with an anticipated boost of 20% in live stream viewership and a 15% improvement in social media interactions during broadcasts. The broadcast infrastructure upgrade at Levi's Stadium is not just about enhancing the viewing experience; it's about future-proofing the facility for the next generation of sports events. With advanced technology from Sony, Dolby, Grass Valley, and others, Levi's Stadium will remain a premier venue in live production, setting new standards for stadium audio-visual capabilities.
